SlyPilot Memory vs. Windows Recall, Rewind and Screenpipe

"Find anything I've seen on my computer" is one of the most useful ideas of the last few years, and one of the most sensitive. Every tool that does it keeps a record of your day. So the question that matters most isn't only how well does it find things, but what does it keep, where, and who decides what it skips?
Here is how SlyPilot's Memory (SlyPilot Pro) compares with the best-known alternatives.
Facts about other products were checked in October 2026 from public sources and can change; follow the links for the current state.

🧭 What the Difference Means for You
Text, not pictures. Recall and screen recorders keep what your screen looked like. That can find a chart, a photo or text inside an image, which SlyPilot's Memory cannot. It also means a picture of everything on your screen, every few seconds, sits on your disk. Memory keeps only the words, which makes it small, makes deleting a program's or a day's moments simple and complete, and keeps out what was never words.
Any PC. Recall needs a Copilot+ PC. Memory runs on the PC you already have.
You can read the rules. What Memory never keeps is decided in SlyPilot's free core, which is open source. The private-window check, the password-manager check, the sign-in, bank and health sites, the protected list: you can read every line.
Your model, your choice. Ask uses the AI model you already set up for AI actions. With a model on your PC, nothing leaves the PC; with a model outside it, you see exactly which lines would go, every time.
⚖️ When Another Tool Is the Better Choice
- You need to find things that were only ever pictures (a slide, a chart, a photo, a scanned page): Recall or a screen recorder will find them; Memory won't.
- You want audio of everything (not just calls you choose to caption or note): a recorder like Screenpipe keeps it; Memory keeps text only, and only of calls you caption or record notes for.
- You're on a Mac or Linux: SlyPilot is Windows only.
